Longest Day 5k run

Yesterday was the longest day 5k run.  It was my first race since my 10k at the beginning of May so it felt good to do a race!  The run was at 7:30 p.m. in 82 degree weather with no breeze...it was HOT!  I did a run the night before to make sure I felt ready and it was 70 degrees, breezy and beautiful and I felt great but yesterday it was 90 so at 7:30 it had not cooled off much yet.  I did great though running the whole thing which is always my goal.  I finished in 34 minutes even but my official time was 34:22 because I started about 20 seconds back and they didn't do chip timing, so I timed myself :)  I felt good about that time given the heat.  Next up is the 10k in Ashland on July 4th which should be a challenge and I love that!

This week has been crazy - it started last weekend with going down to Northern California to photograph a wedding.  I'm editing the pictures now and they look beautiful so I'm very happy with the way they turned out.  We came back early Monday morning with our brother-in-law Matt who is remodeling our master bathroom.  I never realized what a project it would be but we gutted the entire bathroom and are starting fresh so it's a lot of work.  We are tiling the shower, the floors and putting in a new vanity/counter and fixtures so it will look beautiful!  I will do a separate post with pictures once the project is complete.  We are supposed to go camping this weekend but now the weather is calling for rain, so we will have to wait and see if that trip happens.  Either way family is here, we are having a great time and enjoying the warm weather!

Below are pictures from the longest day 5k...enjoy :)
